What is the earliest time to have a flight from San Juan if my cruise arrives at 7:00 AM?
Best price I have found for flights leaves at 9:51 AM. It would be a domestic flight to Detroit. Best price I have found for flights leaves at 9:51 AM. It would be a domestic flight to Detroit. I've never been on a cruise before.

That is NOT a good time. Even though your ship arrives at 7am, you never know if it will arrive on time. Then you have to get your luggage in a sea of luggage, then go through customs, then to your flight. You really need to book your flight at the earliest after 1pm. Another option is to stay an extra day in San Juan and then book a early flight if you can get a cheap price.

Even though the cruise docks at 7am, you should not schedule a flight out until after 12 noon at the earliest.

Well, I do not suggest you book a flight so early. I would book something like 11:30am or after. You should still handle your own luggage. Its easier, faster and no waiting or searching. Hope I helped!

If you have already booked, It can be done, but it's tight. When you board talk to the Purser, explain what you have done and ask to get off the ship first. You will get special tags for your luggage and you will go through customs first. Then get a taxi to the airport. It's not a long drive. This is fairly common and the cruise lines are use to it,,,,BUT everyone else is correct always book your fight after lunch. It costs a little more but you really don't want to finish you cruise with all this extra panic trying to make your flight. The airlines know what time your ship arrives, and they know people book the later flight so they can relax, that's why it is more money.

I wouldn't chance that flight time at San Juan, from what I've read. I wouldn't even chance that in any port. Usually not a good idea to book a flight before Noon, even at an "easy" port - and San Juan is supposedly one of the worst, especially when cruise ships arrive and especially on a weekend. The ship may arrive late, there may be customs issues that prevent immediate debarking, you may not be one of the first people off the ship, may have traffic getting to the airport, may have long security lines at the airport, etc., etc. Make a reservation for a later flight. If you get to the airport early, you may be able to get on an earlier flight [good idea to know what flights are going to your destination before you go], although these days the flights are so full, that may be wishful thinking!
