Under 18 you are not required to have ID on a flight - but I would bring it with you anyways.

The first answer is correct and offers good advice. You don't have to have ID -- the TSA doesn't require passengers under the age of 18 to present a government-issued ID -- but you'll have less hassles with the TSA and the airline if you have your school ID with you.

No, it isn't. Those are laminated paper and will not be accepted. You're not yet 18 therefore your birth certificate should be fine. A passport is best, but you really don't need one. Your best bet would be to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles (where you'll get your driver's license in a couple of years) with your social security card and birth certificate and get a government issued photo i.d. These are just like a driver's license but you can't drive with it. And because it is government issued the airline will accept it. It works a little better than an birth certificate because it has your photo.

since you are 14 you dont have to show any ID when traveling in the US but if for some reason they need to see your ID a school ID works

if you are a passenger under 18 years of age in the U.S., you are not required to have an I.D. but if you want to you can bring it. they might need it for security reasons if you're traveling by yourself. hope i helped!!! :)

Yes, when I was 15 this past February going to Florida, I just brought my school ID and they took it and they said it was fine. That should be perfectly fine. If you were going to another country, you'd need a passport.
