Like I said in another question: Go back and do what!!? It was a failed attack. The suspect is in custody and I never heard of a U.S. President conducting an interrogation. When the U.S. was under attack on 9/11 what did that current President do?

This is one reason why Republicans are always on the attack 24/7, saying egregious comments against Obama. Hypocrite, the Detroit terrorist attack was scuffled, no one died in the attack, and the attacker is in custody. There's a possibility he might stand trial in his country should he be extradited.

As President there is no reason to cut his trip short. The damage has been done and there is nothing for him to do but what he has already done. What he can do though is quit making excuses about extremist Islam and start treating them like they are, terrorists. Coddling them as he has is not working.

What attack? It was averted. In addition, there was nothing that the USA could have done to prevent it if the claim had been genuine, as the flight did not originate in the USA. Had it gone off, it would have been on Nigeria and the European Union; unlike the European Union, any passenger flying through an American airport in transit must be re-screened. Now, had the plane originated from an American point of departure and blown up in Europe, that would have been on the President.
