Where can i book cheap flights from Detroit to Germany?
I need to fly somewhere between the 13th and 19th of July and want to stay for about two and a half weeks. My destination in Germany is near Bremen so the Bremen, Hamburg and Hanover airports in germany are it. We are going to be 3 adults. If anyone could help save some money that would be great. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Unfortunately, ticket prices from the US to Europe skyrocket in the summer so "cheap tickets" should be a relative phrase for that time of year :( In any case, a good place to start might be www.kayak.com It searches all the major airline websites as well as many of the popular booking sites (orbitz, travelocity, expedia, etc) and lists prices from all those places for you in one window. Now, if the general prices of tickets turn out to be disappointing, and you don't mind shuffling around a bit, you could try finding a cheap ticket to London (Heathrow) and finding a cheap ticket from Ryanair.com to take you from London into Bremen. This would mean, taking a cab from Heathrow to a smaller airport in the London area, so use this option only if the ticket to Heathrow is cheap enough to make the extra effort worth it. Other British/Irish discount airlines include Monarch and Aer Lingus. Given the time of year you'll be travelling, you may just have to accept the fact that it's going to cost more than you hoped to get to Bremen. However, if you and your travel partners are flexible with your itinerary you could try getting a bit more bang for your buck. You could try flying into cities that are a little cheaper to get to, but slightly farther away--such as Berlin or Amsterdam--and enjoy a nice train ride into Bremen. Another potentially fun possibility could be to fly into Frankfurt via Iceland Air. Iceland Air has this great deal in which passengers on flights stopping in Iceland get a free stopover there (not layover--but a stopover, an "extended layover")...so if you're flexible and are up for an adventure, you could fly out of the US, visit Iceland for a day or two, resume flight to Frankfurt and take a train to Bremen...or visit Iceland on your way back to the US. However, I don't know if Iceland air flies out of Detroit, but perhaps there are similar ways for you to get more out of your money. Finally, if you or any of your travel buddies has frequent flier miles, this might be a good time to use them. Then, the three of you could agree to just split the cost of two tickets.

Detroit to New York New York to Rhein Mein Best to try Lufthansa...it's usually the cheapest and they'll contract your Detroit to New York with Southwest! Tickets are cheap and be prepared to drive in Germany or take the train. The train is the best way to go in Germany. It's so different then the US. Comfortable, cheap, and they speak english for us ugly Americans!

Just go to a site like dohop.com or bing.com - two of the best flight search websites for finding cheap international flights. Someone suggested Expedia - they will only show you a small subset of the available tickets.
