You won't find a non-stop flight. It takes about three hours to Denver with a transfer to Colorado Springs. It takes about 4 and a half hours total if you fly Frontier Airlines. Other airlines have one-stop flights through Dallas, Houston etc. It would take you longer than Frontier to get there. .

I'm not so sure that everybody who helped to restrain the man will want their names released, for obvious reasons. I'm with you though, thanks to all who helped to prevent the man from igniting whatever he was trying to ignite. It also good to see that because of the events of 9/11, passengers aren't going to take their crap anymore and will react quickly and violently to any of these cowards. Kudos to all of those that helped!

I'm going to be buying tickets to Paris here shortly and am in a slight predicament. I will be flying from Omaha, NE (OMA) to Detroit, MI (DTW) on May 9th and have narrowed down the flights to choose from to two. One of the flights has a 4h 49m layover in DTW which would be okay, but is a little on the long side for me. The other flight has a 1h 10m layover and I'm worried that it might be too short, do to the fact that my connecting flight is an International flight. Would I be safe with the shorter layover? Or should I go with the longer one?

I personally would go for the longer layover. A layover with only 1hr 10 min, it doesn't take much for you to misconnect to your International flight. I personally would rather play it safe. Bring some good books, an ipod, laptop computer if you have one, puzzle books...to keep you occupied on the flights, and on the layover.

Definitely go with the longer one. If you're flying Northwest, they have a huge new terminal at DTW, and it offers plenty of things to do during a layover. Like the other person said, an hour and ten minutes isn't long enough. If your flight out of Omaha is delayed, you'll have even less time to make your connection. It's a long trip. You might as well make it as enjoyable as you can.

I'd go with the longer connection just to be safe. Assuming your flight is on time, a 1h10min. connection is probably enough time (although cutting it close). You'll probably be on a smaller plane from Omaha to DTW so it won't take you long to get off the plane. However, DTW is a big airport, and although it's one of the best major airports I've been to, it's still big. So even if your flight from Omaha is delayed by only 10 or 15 minutes, you could be in trouble, especially since you will probably have to change terminals. So I would go for the longer one just to be safe. DTW is great for a major airport though, and there's plenty of stuff there.

I personally would go for the longer layover. A layover with only 1hr 10 min, it doesn't take much for you to misconnect to your International flight. I personally would rather play it safe. Bring some good books, an ipod, laptop computer if you have one, puzzle books...to keep you occupied on the flights, and on the layover.

Definitely go with the longer one. If you're flying Northwest, they have a huge new terminal at DTW, and it offers plenty of things to do during a layover. Like the other person said, an hour and ten minutes isn't long enough. If your flight out of Omaha is delayed, you'll have even less time to make your connection. It's a long trip. You might as well make it as enjoyable as you can.

I'd go with the longer connection just to be safe. Assuming your flight is on time, a 1h10min. connection is probably enough time (although cutting it close). You'll probably be on a smaller plane from Omaha to DTW so it won't take you long to get off the plane. However, DTW is a big airport, and although it's one of the best major airports I've been to, it's still big. So even if your flight from Omaha is delayed by only 10 or 15 minutes, you could be in trouble, especially since you will probably have to change terminals. So I would go for the longer one just to be safe. DTW is great for a major airport though, and there's plenty of stuff there.

Standby is NOT a cheaper fare anymore. Most companies don't even sell standby tickets anymore. The usual way to get them is to either be a dependent or employee of an airline, have a buddy pass, or to already have bought a full priced ticket and just wanting to change the day you fly. The only time you get a bargain is if you volunteered to give up your seat on an overcrowded flight and they upgraded you to first or business class when putting you on standby for the next flight. Here is how standby works though: I always call about a week ahead of the date I want to fly to check the occupancy and let them know I plan on flying on that date (many airlines like to e notified in advance when an employee or dependent plans to fly). I also call back the date of the flight to make sure it still looks okay (I don't want to get to the airport, wait, and then be told it's full). Why didn't you look this up yourself? Any travel consolidator website, like Travelosity, Orbitz, ect., would have given you this information. Delta, and Northwest are the only airlines that fly direct from Detroit to Memphis. It's a two hour flight.

Had a hard time finding info on this online, so thought I'd ask here. Any ideas how much a ticket would run?

You need to fly into Boise Id. its about 15 min from Meridian! The price depends on when you want to fly but i found a flight leaving june 1st for $385 round trip just you have an idea. hope i helped

I've never been to Detroit's, so can't comment on theirs. The one time I've been in Minnesota's, it was nice. They had a shopping area, one with sports items. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of Green Bay items in the Minnesota airport store. I'd travel through Minnesota again and not have a problem.

they both suck but I think Minn sucks less. BUT my opinion is based on a flight through both pre 9/11 so lots of things have changed in both since then.

I'd pick the Minneapolis airport. I think it's really nice myself. And yes, the shopping and food options are great there. Be sure you have a good layover though. Hopefully a bit longer than the standard 45 minutes. I'm betting that you'll have to get on a 'puddle-jumper' to Green Bay, and that will be in an entirely different concourse. This involves walking really fast even on the people-movers. If time isn't important, see if you can at least get a 2 hour layover. That'll give you time to check out shops and have a bite to eat.

Of course you'll be able to watch movies on the flight. If u have a portable dvd player or a laptop, you can bring your own to watch. If you have any good books that you've been dying to read, you can read then now. Do you like crossword puzzles? Most airlines have an in-flight magazine will a crossword that will keep you busy for a few hours!! Maybe u like sudoku.... your local drugstore is full of little books with sudoke puzzles, word searches and crosswords. During the flight you can also start making a rough draft of your new years resolutions for 2010. And then you can pray for world peace (not whirled peas!)

I'm trying to determine best time to book. I see how Orbitz has random deals and stuff. I was thinking of waiting until October or November to book, think that's a good idea or should I book now?

If it were me, I'd buy it now. Generally the way it works is that the airline will say something like: The first 20 seats we'll sell for $200 The next 20 seats, we'll sell for $220 The next 40 seats, we'll sell for $250 These groups of seats are called "fare buckets", at least by the airline employees. They correspond to the one-letter "booking class" code on your ticket. So, if you want a specific flight on a specific day, the price is more than likely only going to go up. Yes, sometimes there are sales and stuff, but the odds of the sale being for a flight from where you are, to where you want to go, on the days you want to travel...that's pretty rare.

I always check expedia.com or orbitz.com and then see which airline has the cheapest flight, then go to that airline's website, pick the same flights and 99% of the time they're the exact same price. Some airlines (I know American Airlines) guarantee that you will find the cheapest fares on their own website. Also, many of those sites charge "booking fees" of $5 or more so it's actually cheaper through the airline. And also the "low-fare" carriers usually don't offer their tickets through those sites so you have to book through the airline's website. However, JetBlue always seems to be a more expensive option for me (and sometimes considerably more)

I need a cheap flight from Detroit to Las Vegas
I need a cheap flight from Detroit to Las Vegas?
I need to get to Vegas over the Thanksgiving holiday and am finding the prices unbelievable. Does anybody know the cheapest airlines to fly during this or any other time? I have used Kayak and Expedia, etc. but most of them don't list the smaller carriers I may be able to fly less expensively.

Not sure what small carriers you are talking about. If it lands at McCarran Airport then it is either listed on those sites or on Southwest.com. Allegiant Air would be the smallest airline that flies from Detroit to Las Vegas but they will be listed on those sites. The problem you are having is the week you are traveling is the most expensive week of the entire year. What you see is as cheap as it is going to get, the prices will keep rising the longer you wait.

How come no one is upset with Obama after the planned attack on inbound flight to Detroit
How come no one is upset with Obama after the planned attack on inbound flight to Detroit?
I was reading some AP articles where it said that Obama held a conference call with national security leaders and the call lasted all of 15 minutes. Then it was off to the gym. What is the plan was successful? and Obama was staying at his 4,000 a night vacation rental in Hawaii? Would average America have been upset? Please answer just the questions I posed and lets leave GW Bush out of this equation

The guy is the leader of a country deeply in debt with a fragile economy and at war. (a long war at that) He should be so busy that we rarely ever see him. But I guess that is what he has chosen to do. It is almost like the climb to the top was all it was about and now that he is there he doesn't know what to do. This might sound funny but it's kind of like a dog chasing a car and then catches it. The chase is over and now what do I do?

Millions of people fly, ride trains, take buses, and use any other type of transportation to get from one place to the next, and let's be realistic, no country, president, intelligence, can catch all who try to make a terrorist act, so that is why no one should be upset with Obama, be for real.

If the plan were successful, anyone blaming Obama would have been wrong.

depends on how long your lay over is. i went from milwaukee at 8:00 to houston at around 11:15 left there at 12:35 and arrived in cabo at 3:00 . have fun- i went last month for my honeymoon and I had the best time of my life, i can't wait to go back!!! And by the way, i booked everything through a travel agent, who set up everything with apple vacations, so all my transportation was taken care of to and from the airport.

I don't see any non-stop flights from DTW to YVR, Detriot to Vancouver BC. Looks like if you choose NW, you'd be NW to Seattle and then up on Horizon Air most likely. The flight from Detriot to Seattle appears to be about 5 hours and the flight from Seattle to Vancouver is 1 hour. BC Place Stadium is located in the city of Vancouver, you'll fly into the Vancouver BC airport. Enjoy your trip!

One of them is downtown- it's called Edmonton City Center Airport-unfortunately this airport doesn't handle (major)commercial air traffic anymore because of the noise and so on. So you'll have to land at Edmonton International.Now the next thing is..according to flightstats.com there are no direct flights between Detroit and Edmonton.So you'll either have to fly to Chicago or Toronto first and then get on another plane to Edmonton. From Detroit to Chicago is about a 1 hour flight.Chicago to Edmonton is close to 4 hours...so going that way about 5 hours altogether-not factoring in any layover between flights. If you fly to Toronto from Detroit it's about an hour...then you're going to have to give yourself enough time between flights to claim your baggage and go through Canadian customs in Toronto... then to Edmonton...also about 4 hours- so either way you're looking at about 5 to 5 and a half hours flying time.(this route is actually the cheaper of the two)

I was business class, but in my experience going back and forth 8 times last year on Air France and Air Tahiti, Air France was better. The food was better, like restaurant food. Fancy combinations that weren't scary or gross. Better movie selection. They tend to have great movies and rotate them enough. They have snacks at random intervals. So if you wake up hungry, often you can go get a drink or some sandwiches during the night from the stewardess station. They also have video games and radio in the seat tv. Everybody sleeps a lot, and mostly at the same time. It's not bad at all, especially if it's nonstop.

There is an 18 inch seat width and 32 inch seat pitch. Air France A330s have seating 2 - 4 - 2 so I'd try to get a seat in a two-block near the front of the cabin. Two meals will be served- a dinner shortly after takeoff and breakfast upon arrival. Each seat is equipped with a personal TV, remote, and adjustable lights. Movies are semi on-demand, and there are also games, TV programs, news broadcasts, online boutique shopping, the 'Comix' cartoon channel, and a live broadcast information feed. Your seat reclines approximately 30 degrees. Hope this helps, and have a nice flight =]

hey.... if i was you i'd call up a local travel agent first & ask for a quote then I'd do a price comparison online. now finding the cheapest price could take a while online so i suggest u try this free web app that works with any search engine...once u download it itll do an automatic price comparison for you from different travel agents...once u get the cheapest price online take that to your local travel agent to beat...see how u go...it worked for me last time hehehe

ABOUT 4 HOURS NON STOP... I THINK NORTHWEST AIRLINES GOES THERE.

It is a little over five hours long. It's usually a very straight-through flight and it's VERY beautiful when you begin to land. A bunch of amazing, snow-topped mountains.

Today, July 4, Northwest flights 209, 211 and 215 all flew non-stop from Detroit to Seattle in 3 hours 30 minutes, within 5 minutes. Regards, Dan

I flew Detroit-West Palm, which yes is longer. Went from gate to gate 12:02 to 2:34.So I would imagine JAX-DTW would be 2.5 hours or something like that including ground time. Detroit-LAX should be somewhere around 5 hours.

How long (generally) would a flight be from Detroit, Michigan to Bordeaux France?

If you could find a direct flight from Detroit to Bordeaux it would take about 8 hours. I don't believe there is direct flights. Most of the flights I found ranged from 10 hrs 45 min to 18 hours depending on the layovers.

There are no direct flights currently available. You'll have to fly via Montreal, Dublin, London or Paris. Air France to Paris and a connection seems like the best option. The total travel time will depend on the connecting flights that you manage to find. It would be about 8 hours of flying, but the whole journey will probably be over 12 hours.

There isn't a nonstop flight offered from DTW-BOD. However, you can fly the Air France flight to CDG (Charles de Gaulle International Airport) where you can connect on a flight to Bordeaux. The flight from DTW-CDG is approximately 7 hours and 40 minutes while the flight from CDG-BOD is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. The shortest total travel time to get there including connections seems to be on Air France which is 10 hours and 45 minutes.

How many Hours is a flight from Detroit to Denver?
How long does it take a flight leaving detroit to get to Denver? Trying to figure out when my fiance will arrive in Denver. The flight was united and he left somewhere between 3:30pm -3:45pm From Detroit

According to Northwest it is 3 hour and 9 minutes from DTW to DEN

It all depends on the jet stream and how strong it is!!! I flew once form North Carolina to Tempe Arizona and it took like 1 and a half to 2 hours, or maybe even 3, it has been a few years!! So, till you fly you can just guess on the time it will take!!! The pilot caculates all that when he gets in the cocpit of the plane and tells you over the loud speaker!!!
