Is it an international flight if I have to go to Detroit before I go to Europe

Is it an international flight if I have to go to Detroit before I go to Europe?
It is the first stop on the plane trip and I am trying to figure out how long before the flight leaves I have to be at the airport. Two hours?

It is called an international flight because it travels to a different country. It doesn't matter if it isn't non stop.
2 :
If the first part of your journey operates as a domestic segment, then it is a domestic segment, not international. Just get there in plenty of time. Two hours is a good time frame.
3 :
Treat it like a domestic flight, as there is no reason to get to the airport that much earlier. But be on time though. if you miss a connection, you may have to wait 24 hours for the next flight.

If you're flying from anywhere in the US, the leg to Detroit will be a domestic flight. This assumes that you will be changing planes at DTW. Two hours would be a safe bet, depending upon the size of the airport you're leaving from. If you're not changing planes, it may be classified as international from your initial point of departure.

Go in the off season on a sale fare -- that will be the cheapest. Just order it through a travel agent or the airline ticket agent. Payment will be the issue, really, more than age. If you have a debit card you could use that, or your parents card if they will let you use theirs. Or you could get a money order and go to a travel agent personally. Most airlines consider someone 17 an adult anyway. Good luck

ALL airlines in the U.S. allow kids 15 and over to fly as adults. Of, course, your parents should approve and know where you are going, but you do not need anything special to fly. Also, kids under 18 do not need I.D. to fly.
