This would vary by what part of Dominica you fly into. The main airport of Dominica is Melville Hall Airport, yet small, it only host's one airline and you would have to make connections out of Detroit. In order to fly this you would go something like... American Airlines Detroit to Chicago (Ohare) - Flight Time: About 50 Minutes Chicago to San Juan - Flight Time: About 4 Hours San Juan to Dominica (Melville) - Flight Time: About 1 Hour 30 Minutes The total time in the air would be about 6 Hours 20 Minutes. Please note that as airline schedules and destinations change the traveling times are estimated by the airline.

You're limited to Northwest or Lufthansa--they're the only airlines with nonstop service between Detroit and Germany. Neither of them look anything close to cheap, currently, for their summer peak-season flights, and I wouldn't expect the fares to drop. Summer airfare sales on transatlantic routes are rare. I hardly ever say this, but phoning the airline direct, or a travel agent, might be helpful with this particular type of booking (peak season, nonstop only, un'cmpy. minor).

Is 43 minutes enough time to connect to a different flight in Detroit (DTW)

Is 43 minutes enough time to connect to a different flight in Detroit (DTW)?
So I'm flying from Omaha to Berlin. From OmahaI take a Delta (operated by ASA) flight to Detroit. From there I have just 43 minutes to catch an Air France flight to Paris. From Paris to Berlin, etc. Is this enough time to connect? It feels like too little time for an international flight connection. Also on the way back, I fly from my connection in JFK to Minneapolis on Delta mainline. In Minneapolis I have 48 minutes to connect to my Delta (mainline again) flight to Omaha. Is this enough time to connect in MSP?

1 :
You should be fine, I would ask an employee or two from Delta just to make sure (you may have a problem if your flight from Omaha to Delta is delayed though).
2 :
not enough time think about how long it takes you to get bag in a baggage claim
3 :
That should be plenty of time for a connecting flight. All of your check-in bags should be transferred through the airlines and all you will have to worry about is you and your carry-on. Keep your boarding passes accessible and know what your next flight # is so you can find your terminal with no trouble. Always ask an attendant if you aren't sure. The only time you might run into trouble is if your flight is delayed for any reason. Then the airline will do the best they can to get you on the next connecting flight to your destination.
4 :
Yes. 43 minutes is sufficient since your bags will be checked through to Paris. After arriving in Detroit, just go to your next gate. 48 minutes in MSP is fine too. Have a great trip!
5 :
When you taxi, you barely feel the plane move at all. At this point the cabin crew will tell you all you need to know about what to do in case of emergencies and such. They will do a demonstration or show a video of where the exits are, how to fasten your seatbelt, when portable electronics can and can't be used, etc. The captain will come on and give a little speech about the flight and what to expect - something about how long it will take until you take-off, what to expect weather wise in your destination city, and how long the flight should take. When the plane prepares for liftoff, it starts to go really fast down the runway, and then within 45 seconds you are up in the air. Things may seem a little wobbly at first, but that's just because of moving through the different altitudes. Your ears will pop as you climb through the altitudes also. The best ways are to alleviate the pressure are to: *chew gum *drink something *suck on a hard candy or mints *yawn *pinch the nostrils shut, take a deep breath in through the mouth, then force the air into the back of the nose as if trying to blow your nose *Another trick that used mainly on babies and small children, but can be used on anyone, is to gently but with some pressure, rub your neck repeatedly from the chin to the base of the neck. This will cause a swallowing motion that will relieve pressure build-up in the ears. Once you are in the air, things will feel smooth. You will hear the humm of the engines, but that's normal, nothing to worry about. I actually find it relaxing. If there is turbulence, you might feel the plane wobble a little bit (usually up and down) but remember, planes are designed to withstand this, so take a deep breath and try not to think about it. It might give you a few butterflies in your stomach though. After a few minutes, you will hear a ding. This is the captain letting the flight attendants know that the plane has reached 10,000 feet. At this point, the rate of ascent will decrease. You will also get an announcement that it's OK to use portable electronic devices at this time. When you are approaching landing, your ears will pop as you descend through the altitudes (remember: chewing gum, drinking something, swallowing, yawning, etc will alleviate the pressure). You will feel the plane slow down and the cabin crew will prepare you for landing. As you get close to your destination, the captain will come back on and tell you how much longer until you land, and what the weather is like. When the plane touches down it kind of feels like a short jolt, and then you To entertain yourself: - Bring along a few book, magazines, puzzles (such as crosswords or Sodoku if you like those). - Bring along an iPod, MP3 player, or CD player to listen to music. - A laptop is good to have as you can play games on it, connect to the internet, and get any work done that you may have. (You have to have a WIFI card in your laptop and the airline will charge you to connect to the internet) or watch DVDs. - Try talking to the people next to you. Sometime you will meet some really interesting people, and forge friendships.
6 :
On the outbound, it'll be tight, but if DL allowed you to buy the ticket this way then it should be fine. Every airline has minimum connection times that take into account what airlines you are connecting between, and whether your flights are domestic or international. I can't decipher the times. 48 minutes on the return is legal. Minimum connection time is 30 minutes.
7 :
Nope. Sorry. Detroit is a good size airport, and your baggage has to be transferred, you have to go through security again, possibly customs, and what if your flight from Omaha is delayed? Then you'll most definitely miss your flight.

getting off on the first stop in Atlanta. for a flight intended from Detroit to Orlando

getting off on the first stop in Atlanta. for a flight intended from Detroit to Orlando ?
hello, i was looking for the cheapest possible flight ticket from Detroit to Atlanta and the prices are a bit high. however i found a possible way to get to Atlanta for cheaper. That is if i buy a one way ticket for a flight from Detroit to Orlando that makes a stop in Atlanta and require getting into another airline. So is it possible if i get off in Atlanta and leave with my carry on and never mind getting on another flight to Orlando? if yes to the question about then lets say i want to take it to the next level and buy a two way round trip, Detroit to Orlando and Orlando to Detroit with stops in Atlanta both ways. would i be able to get back on from Atlanta to Detroit if i was not present in the flights going to and from Orlando? I am talking about using AirTran thanks a lot

if you have do not have any luggage (besides your carry-on), then i guess that you could get off at Atlanta, but (and this has happened before at Milwaukee's airport) The Gate agents will be calling your name over the intercom. I would tell the check-in counter that you -for some reason- cant go to Orlando. That way if someone has HAS to go to Orlando and they have a standby ticket your spot would be free--it would be just the right thing to do.
2 :
You could try.....the way down would be the easiest......I would tell the ticket agent and free up a seat........as long as you have your boarding pass for the return flight you should be OK......but......make sure you have your boarding pass from Atlanta to Detroit......may work.....never heard of it but the worst that could happen is you have to buy a full fair day of purchase from Atlanta to Detroit......that will be expensive....Why don't you just call Air-Tran and ask........they can't smack you up side the head over the phone..........
3 :
Yes, your plan works for the one-way ticket. Just make sure you tell the ticket agent in Atlanta that you will not be making the connection to Orlando. Of course, this assumes that you only have carry on luggage as you will not be able to check your luggage just to Atlanta. You cannot do it, however, round-trip, as they will automatically cancel the Atlanta to Detroit leg if you are booked Orlando to Detroit via Atlanta and do not show up for the Orlando to Atlanta leg.
4 :
it can be done but if you are caught the airline can charge you the full fare DTW to ATL and of course your return reservations will be canceled
5 :
Since you have to reserve tickets with a credit card, the airlines will go ahead and charge it to your account. They aren't stupid and they know when people do such things and they will go after you. My friend needed to travel to Salt Lake City and he flew from St. Louis on Delta with a lay-off in SLC with a ticket onward to LA and the airline went after him. He was charged the $200 difference on his credit card. Your ticket should indicate that you are not allowed to just get off at the connection airport.

What is the flight path London to Detroit

What is the flight path London to Detroit?
Had beautiful views about 2 hrs before landing in Detroit....frozen lakes and moutains and virtually uninhabited. Where was that?
Air Travel - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
most likely Greenland
2 :
The flight path from London to Detroit does not pass over Greenland. About 2 hours before landing you would have been about 150 miles north of Quebec (the city). You were probably looking at an area called "Le Fjord-du-Saguenay".
3 :
This shows you the approximate flight path between those cities: http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=lhr-det What you saw was undoubtedly in Canada.
4 :
Frozen lakes and mountains suggests Canada. It was probably Nova Scotia or Québec you were looking at, as these provinces are peppered with lakes. Moreover, Canada is so vast that it would appear to be "virtually uninhabited". Greenland is less likely, especially with regards to the "lake" thing. Also, if you were flying over Greenland it would be for a flight further west to LAX or Vancouver. Hop this helped, JPJ

Will airline tickets go down after Christmas for an end of February Detroit to Cancun flight?
I am going to Cancun Feb. 21 - 28. Does anyone know if I should anticipate ticket prices to drop after the holidays? I found a round trip for $345 out-the-door which I think is pretty good..

I would say so.After the holidays when people go back to work and kids go back to school the prices will go down because not to many people are traveling.
2 :
That's actually pretty cheap... Realistically, you shouldn't expect it to go down that much, so you'd basically be risking it by not buying now. However, do some more comparing before you buy them. Your best bet is BookMe. You can compare ALL the reputable travel sites, and save money. Good luck!

is a school id sufficient for a flight from florida to detroit? im 14 years old?
im going on spirit airlines to detroit.. i have a school id with my picture and name on it is that a good enough id?
Air Travel - 7 Answers

Under 18 you are not required to have ID on a flight - but I would bring it with you anyways.
2 :
The first answer is correct and offers good advice. You don't have to have ID -- the TSA doesn't require passengers under the age of 18 to present a government-issued ID -- but you'll have less hassles with the TSA and the airline if you have your school ID with you.
3 :
No, it isn't. Those are laminated paper and will not be accepted. You're not yet 18 therefore your birth certificate should be fine. A passport is best, but you really don't need one. Your best bet would be to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles (where you'll get your driver's license in a couple of years) with your social security card and birth certificate and get a government issued photo i.d. These are just like a driver's license but you can't drive with it. And because it is government issued the airline will accept it. It works a little better than an birth certificate because it has your photo.
4 :
since you are 14 you dont have to show any ID when traveling in the US but if for some reason they need to see your ID a school ID works
5 :
if you are a passenger under 18 years of age in the U.S., you are not required to have an I.D. but if you want to you can bring it. they might need it for security reasons if you're traveling by yourself. hope i helped!!! :)
6 :
Of course that is all you have so bring it...it is enough and you do not need ur birth certificate
7 :
Yes, when I was 15 this past February going to Florida, I just brought my school ID and they took it and they said it was fine. That should be perfectly fine. If you were going to another country, you'd need a passport.

( and back again, 3 hours before your flight is due to take off!) 4) the cost of getting flights. I suppose it could be done: my question is WHY? Is this an endurance test, or are you raising money for Charity. Yes you can do London in a week-end, but you will be tired. I'm really sorry I don't know how much it will be- so I really apologise.

My flight via Delta leaving manila is at 8:05 AM arriving in Narita at 1:10PM (my Itinerary). My connecting flight to detroit will leave Narita @ 2:30 PM. Are Delta terminal gates just within one area? Won't I be late in my connecting flight to Detroit granted that my layover allowance is only 1.20 hours?
Japan - 4 Answers

1 :
If the gates are in the same terminal you should not have a problem. Usually 1 hour is enough time to make connections. Look at the ticket and make sure they are in the same terminal.
2 :
Whereas most people will be getting off in Narita , those of you who have ongoing flights will be directed to your departure gate via the transfer lounge. If you are still worried make sure that the people who you purchased your ticket from show all details on the itinerary, including transfer.The chances are that the plane you arrive on will be the one you leave on , so you will be directed to a transfer lounge and will be called back onto the plane when it is loaded with fuel, luggage , food etc;
3 :
yes because they have stop over due the plane change
4 :
Yes they are within the same area. However you have to go through transit security check (metal detector, xray scanner & id check). Don't worry they usually hold the next plane for connecting passengers. As a long time Northwest/Delta flier I am very well familiar with NRT T1 and their operations.

Good for you! Your luggage will be checked to San Francisco so you don't need to get it until you get there. There are lots of good signs that tell you where the baggage claim is and once you get there a sign over each carousel will tell you what flight the luggage is coming from. When you are in Detroit if you are on the same airline you may have only a short walk to the next gate. There are monitors that tell all the departures and the gate #'s and there are people at each gate to ask. Thousands of people go through the airport every day and most have never been to that airport before so there are lots of signs. Have a good flight!

Their second flight will be changed to a later flight.
2 :
the airline will put them up in a hotel for a night and give them money for taxi just tell them to cry as much as possible
3 :
call the airline they are flying on and ask them when the next connecting flight will be . I am sure they will be glad to help you . good luck .
4 :
Call the airline before you head for the airport. You will be told when they will be placed on another flight. You can also go on-line to get flight information. Ask them for the link.
5 :
Under the Warsaw convention if you miss your connecting flight they have to transfer you onto the next available flight, if it is a certain amount of hours wait they must provide you with Meal and Drink Vouchers, if it is not until the next day, they must provide you with Accommodation, Meal Vouchers and Drink Vouchers.
6 :
looking out my window now.....I am about 5 miles south of DFW. Let me assure you, they will be delayed. (NASTY out there) Should they miss the connecting flight, the airline will find them space on a later flight. Wait to hear from them before going to the airport.
7 :
first check the flight's schedule on the airlines web site, usually under "flight status" also you can even follow the flight path through: http://flightaware.com/ http://www.flightview.com/ that will help you with the pick-up arrangements. Then if they missed their connection, they will be travelling on the next available flight, this is tricky as depends on the airlines availability to put them on the "firts plane" Here they should call you as soon as they arrive to DTW/Detroit to confirm their connecting fligt to destination. FYI: If they are arriving less than half an hour between connecting flights, they most probably miss their connection.
8 :
An airline is required by law to get you from your point of origin to your destination. As long as your in-laws bought both flights from the same airline, or from ones that share services you have nothing to worry about except what time they get there. If they miss their connecting flight, the airline will put then on the next one even if that is the next day.
9 :
The airline is not required to get the passenger a hotel is the misconnect is weather related. They are required to get them from point a to point b at the next possible flight.
10 :
Is it northwest? After the Dallas flight takes off, the airline will know their estimated arrival time in Detroit. You can call the airline and ask that your in-laws be put on the next available flight. Hopefully this way they will get right onto the next flight and not have to battle with other passengers who missed the same connection for limited seats.
11 :
If the connecting airline is the same airline and on the same itinerary, the gate agent on the connecting end will usually "protect" some seats for them (save seats for them on a later flight, if any.) If they are separate airlines, such as a Southwest flight out of DAL (Love Field) and Northwest flight out of Detroit, then there's nothing that will be done for them and they simply miss their flight. If the flight is delayed due to the airline's fault (mechanical or crew problems) then the airline will issue a hotel and meal voucher, if needed. The best way to determine is to goto the airline's website and look up their contract of carriage.
12 :
My daughter's flight was suppose to leave Dallas at 9 for Orange County California. Since she hasn't answered her cell phone I guess her flight is running late. She's connecting to Seattle so I hope she isn't stuck there too long. She hates lay overs.
13 :
Every case is different. If the flight was delayed for weather, your options are less. Typcialy they will be booked on a later flight. Your best bet is to call the airline.
14 :
If the connecting flight is with the same airline ( or a partner airline such as US Airways and United) they will put you on a later flight, no big deal. If it is a different airline and not an airline partner, that is your problem.

What happens if I miss a flight connection cuz the immigration controls are slow

What happens if I miss a flight connection cuz the immigration controls are slow?
Hello, I'll fly from Rome to Houston with a stop in Detroit (1h53min). I heard in Detroit I have to take my luggage go to immigration and then check in... I think the time isn't enough even the flight won't be delayed, cuz the controls take a long time very often. I'm flying with KLM/Northwest. If I miss the flight from Detroit to Houston what happens? They put me on the next plane? For free? Thx

They probably will. And nearly two hours should be plenty of enough time to get through US customs and immigration.

What is the earliest time to have a flight from San Juan if my cruise arrives at 7:00 AM

What is the earliest time to have a flight from San Juan if my cruise arrives at 7:00 AM?
Best price I have found for flights leaves at 9:51 AM. It would be a domestic flight to Detroit. Best price I have found for flights leaves at 9:51 AM. It would be a domestic flight to Detroit. I've never been on a cruise before.
Cruise Travel - 5 Answers

1 :
That is NOT a good time. Even though your ship arrives at 7am, you never know if it will arrive on time. Then you have to get your luggage in a sea of luggage, then go through customs, then to your flight. You really need to book your flight at the earliest after 1pm. Another option is to stay an extra day in San Juan and then book a early flight if you can get a cheap price.
2 :
Even though the cruise docks at 7am, you should not schedule a flight out until after 12 noon at the earliest.
3 :
Well, I do not suggest you book a flight so early. I would book something like 11:30am or after. You should still handle your own luggage. Its easier, faster and no waiting or searching. Hope I helped!
4 :
If you have already booked, It can be done, but it's tight. When you board talk to the Purser, explain what you have done and ask to get off the ship first. You will get special tags for your luggage and you will go through customs first. Then get a taxi to the airport. It's not a long drive. This is fairly common and the cruise lines are use to it,,,,BUT everyone else is correct always book your fight after lunch. It costs a little more but you really don't want to finish you cruise with all this extra panic trying to make your flight. The airlines know what time your ship arrives, and they know people book the later flight so they can relax, that's why it is more money.
5 :
I wouldn't chance that flight time at San Juan, from what I've read. I wouldn't even chance that in any port. Usually not a good idea to book a flight before Noon, even at an "easy" port - and San Juan is supposedly one of the worst, especially when cruise ships arrive and especially on a weekend. The ship may arrive late, there may be customs issues that prevent immediate debarking, you may not be one of the first people off the ship, may have traffic getting to the airport, may have long security lines at the airport, etc., etc. Make a reservation for a later flight. If you get to the airport early, you may be able to get on an earlier flight [good idea to know what flights are going to your destination before you go], although these days the flights are so full, that may be wishful thinking! If you want to read more about other cruisers' experiences, go to CruiseCritic.com. Click on "Boards", then go to the departures board for San Juan.

2 :
Unless Lufthansa only flies one kind of plane, it depends on the day and departure time. The airline web sites usually list the specific equipment type for each flight. However ---- things change all the time, and you could easily find yourself on some other kind of plane. Don't get too hung up on the exact type; it may not be that kind anyway.

how long is flight from detroit to rome italy

how long is flight from detroit to rome italy?

Air Travel - 4 Answers

Eight and a half hours.
2 :
About 10 hours, longer if you have to change planes in New York. But it's worth it, "Roma e' fantastica." 3 must-do restaurants in Rome: (By the way: Italians eat late and usually dress up a little: coat and tie and slacks for men, dress and shawl or jacket for women... lots of people-watching in Italy, where they highly value "la bella figura.") "Rei Degli Amici" a few blocks below the Spanish Steps (Piazza d'Spagna). Good menu plus a buffet-style antipasto and art covers--COVERS-- not just all the walls but the ceilings, too. "Harry's Bar" near the top of The Spanish Steps... not to eat, just to have a Bellini (delizioso !!) " IL Piperno".. It's at "Monte de Cenci 9"... ask a taxi driver, it's not on a main street but it is VERY good, a little pricey. It's been there since 1860, so that attests to its goodness, since Italians do NOT tolerate bad food! And don't skip The Pantheon and the Piazza Navona and its incredible fountain (by Bernini, if I recall correctly).... have a gelato there
3 :
Well for one thing, it would be MUCH longer than 8 and a half hours if it was direct. JFK (New York) to CDG (Paris) is 7h50, and to Rome is well over 9h20 =] So to Detroit would be even longer, approximately ten hours. However, there aren't any direct flights from Detroit to Rome, so you'd have to make a connection. Delta connects in Atlanta or New York, Air France in Paris, KLM in Amsterdam, Continental in Newark, Lufthansa in Frankfurt, US Air in Philadelphia =] So you've got many choices. With a comfortable layover, you're looking at about 13-14 hours of travel time. Hope this helps!

If you were to get a direct flight it would be approx. 8 Hrs 35 Min. You can get flight times for airports all over the world at https://www.jets.com/

Try a travel agent. You probably have better chances of cheaper flights out of Chicago though.
2 :
There is an airline called LAN-CHILE or LAN-PERU that you can get a ticket that will allowed you a round trip from a different location. Google their website. Flying to South America is not cheap...There are in high season now..It is Summer time there now. Tickets are cheaper in July

Offer to smuggle cocaine. I'm sure the smugglers would be more than glad to pay for your airfare, meals and even accommodation!

Try Yahoo Travel. It is very helpful in finding the least expensive flights. I suggest booking the flights directly with the airline, though.

Definitely try Copa Airlines. Copa Airlines is the airline hub for the Americas. They have great package deals. I just booked my spring break travel vacation and got a great deal. Try www.copaair.com Its a great airline that flies brand new Boeing 737s. Good Luck on your travel.

I suggest contacting the following airlines for possible options: Air Canada (AC) through Toronto (YTO) Airtran Airways (FL) direct or through Atlanta (ATL), Baltimore (BWI), Rochester (ROC) or Washington (WAS) American Airlines (AA) direct or through Chicago (CHI), Miami (MIA) or New York (NYC) Continental Airlines (CO) through Cleveland (CLE) or New York (NYC) Delta Air Lines (DL) through Atlanta (ATL), Cincinnati (CVG), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Greensboro (GSO), Lexington (LEX), Nashville (BNA), New York (NYC), Philadelphia (PHL), Raleigh/Durham (RDU), Tallahassee (TLH) or Washington (WAS) Northwest Airlines (NW) direct or through Flint (FNT), Grand Rapids (GRR), Indianapolis (IND), Memphis (MEM), Milwaukee (MKE), New York (NYC), Philadelphia (PHL), Traverse City (TVC) or Washington (WAS) Southwest Airlines (WN) direct or through Chicago (CHI), Jackson (JAN), Louisville (SDF), Nashville (BNA) or Saint Louis (STL) Spirit Airlines (NK) direct or through Atlantic City (AIY), Fort Lauderdale (FLL) or New York (NYC) United Airlines (UA) through Charlotte (CLT), Chicago (CHI), Philadelphia (PHL), Toronto (YTO) or Washington (WAS) US Airways (US) through Charlotte (CLT), Chicago (CHI), New York (NYC), Philadelphia (PHL) or Washington (WAS)

I always have got really cheap flights from booktickets4less.com. I've always compared them to expedia.com and priceline.com to make sure they were cheapest. Try to find the exact flight on each of the sites, then compare the price and go with the cheapest. Hope this helps.
5 :
www.kayak.com searches every single airline- and then you book directly with that company. It's the best search engine.
6 :
Since it will be last-minute before you know, there are a couple of things you can do. 1. Consider one-way tickets. If you purchase a true "open return" ticket, they are very expensive, but with competition on Florida routes, many airlines now sell cheap one-ways, meaning you can just book another one-way when you're ready to go back. Try http://www.bookingbuddy.com and select "one way". 2. Compare with last-minute travel site http://www.lastminute.com which often have cheaper airfares if you bundle it with a cheap car rental or hotel room for 1-2 days. Beware Priceline in this case, because if you bid on price, you won't know the actual travel times--you have to block out entire days for outbound travel, and then for return travel, because flight times and connections aren't revealed unless and until your bid is accepted.

Well, most airlines will have a penalty. If you try to get the best deal, chances are that you won't be able to get a refund. Or there might be a cancellation fee or ticket change fee of $50-$100. YOu can buy a refundable ticket. The only problem with that is they are what you call full fare which I estimate would cost $1000-$1500 for your segment.

check out www.spiritair.com I believe Spirit Airlines flies into Lauderdale, and not Miami, but depending on what your plans are (for example, if you're staying near the beaches) Lauderdale is as convenient as Miami International. I've signed up for Spirit's email specials, so every Tuesday (and sometimes more often) I get notice of their upcoming sales. I also belong to their $9.00 flight club, which can give you additional savings. All this can be done online. You need to be aware with Spirit that it's a no-frills airline. You get nothing on the flight without charge - beverages, snacks. No pillows, blankets anymore. And they charge you for each piece of checked luggage, although I pay for that online beforehand where it is considerably cheaper. I don't believe it would be cheaper to fly from Chicago...it's the same distance, maybe even a bit further as Chicago is even further west. And then you have to get to and from Chicago to begin with which is going to add cost.

8 :
there are no non-stop flights from detroit. you could go 3 different ways: 1. some routes that have 2 stops have lesser delays -2hours 2. some routes that have 1 stop have longer delays +5hours 3. 1 stop and very short delay, but higher ticket -30min so it would take you 4 hours to hit LA, probably and 30 min delay, change plans, arrive hawaii 5 hours later. total flight time 11h and 14m. *going step 1 is a flight time of over 21 hours, but cheaper.

As long as everything is on time. I had problems more than once and missed connecting flights.
2 :
Probably, if you don't have to travel from a domestic terminal to the international terminal. They have a north terminal plus separate concourses A, B & C. You'll have to check see where your arrival gate is and where your departure gate is. You can call your airline for that info.
3 :
Yes, since you don't have any luggage, then that is sufficient time.
4 :
check in online before you go and then you can go straight to boarding gate,
5 :
Yes I'd say so!
6 :
It should be enough. For a low cost airline or for a person which has checked-in luggage, I would say no, but in your case, I would go for it.
7 :
Yes you should be fine. The key is to not be intimidated by Concourse A. It's over a mile long and has 78 gates. There is an overhead monorail-type train with three stops, two on either end of the concourse and one in the middle. The concourse itself is amazing and it's easy to navigate because basically everything is in a straight line. Even if you arrive on Concourse C (in general where Delta Connection regional jets come in), you should be okay for a 50-minute connection. The key there is to not be distracted by the underground tunnel that leads to Concourse A. It has a light-changing pattern and is set to music, people just stop and watch and take pictures. Edit: Engineer apparently is unaware that Delta now flies Detroit-Nagoya nonstop.
8 :
If you talk to a Delta employee they will says that 30 minutes is the minimum legal (yes, legal) connection time at any airport with any airline. It will be slightly tight because you will most likely be connecting in Tokyo Narita NRT and that is a hub fro Delta so they have many flights and many gates there. I had a 50 minutes connection in Atlanta ATL (Delta's biggest hub) and it was slightly tight but it was fine. Just walk slightly quicker than you would normally do. You should have no problem at all. I hope your trip goes well.
9 :
YES!

Another Amsterdam - Detroit flight problem

Another Amsterdam - Detroit flight problem?
NY Times: Incident Reported on Another Amsterdam-to-Detroit Flight The pilots of Northwest Airlines Flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit -- the same flight involved in Friday's terrorism attempt -- requested emergency assistance Sunday upon landing in Detroit, Scott Wintner, an airport spokesman said. Police vehicles met the plane at the far end of the airport, and five buses drove up to the plane, in a repeat of the same scene that occurred on Friday. Mr. Wintner said he did not yet know what the emergency was, and said it could be anything from an ill passenger to a mechanical problem. "It's a pretty typical response," he said of the police vehicles. "With an aircraft situation, speed is of the essence." Mr. Wintner said airport officials were on their way to the scene. Anyone know what the emergency was? . . Thanks Levon. Interesting that this one is Nigerian too. We shouldn't focus on people from Nigeria though. Most of them aren't terrorists and would be offended. LOL

6 :
DETROIT (AP) -- A passenger onboard the same Northwest Airlines flight that was attacked on Christmas Day was taken into custody in Detroit on Sunday after becoming verbally disruptive upon landing, officials said. A law enforcement official said the man was Nigerian and had locked himself in the airliner's bathroom. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing. Delta Air Lines spokeswoman Susan Elliott said crew members requested that security remove the man from Flight 253 after he became disruptive. The remaining 255 passengers got off safely, she said. Airport spokesman Scott Wintner said it was the same flight on which a man tried to set off an explosive on Christmas Day. "The pilot requested emergency assistance upon arrival," he said. Security and airline personnel are on edge since the attempted terror attack on Christmas Day, and the law enforcement official said that lesser incidents had been reported on other flights arriving in Detroit, but the incident with the Nigerian man had sparked the most concern.

On a flight with multiple stops, can I skip the first flight and get on the second

On a flight with multiple stops, can I skip the first flight and get on the second?
I was recently sent an airline ticket that goes from Flint, MI to Detroit, MI to Washington, D.C. - which sounds awesome, especially since I didn't pay for it or book it. The problem? I live in Detroit. Flint is an hour and a half away. So, I was wondering, could I skip the Flint to Detroit flight and just get on at DTW? Your answers are appreciated.

1 :
Call the airline.
2 :
No, you cannot -- as soon as you fail to show up for the FNT-DTW segment, the remainder of the ticket automatically cancels. Calling the airline and asking them to change it will require the entire ticket to be re-issued, which will require you to pay the applicable fare difference and change fee for the change.
3 :
No. When you don't get on the flight in Flint, the rest of the reservation will be canceled and your ticket worthless.
4 :
As soon as you are a "no-show" at the start of the itinerary, the rest is cancelled! Yes, cancelled. And most likely: LOST! Unless you cancel in-advance.
5 :
You need to contact your airline to change ticket if that's possible.( sometimes not as cheap ticket non-refundable ) When changing flights there is always a charge - sometimes a very expensive charge. Do not turn up at Detroit without speaking to airline first all your ticket could be invalid for the whole journey.
6 :
No, as soon as you do not board the aircraft in Flint, the entire flight reservation to include any return flights are automatically cancelled. This is not an airline rule, this is Federal Law.

The scheduled non-stop flight time from Detroit Metropolitan Int'l airport (DTW) to Las Vegas McCarren Int'l airport (LAS) will depend on your choices of airlines. Flight duration will vary from 4h 25min to 4h 32min. - Northwest Airlines has 4 daily non-stop flights with flight times of 4h 26min to 4h 32min. - US Airways 2 daily non-stop flights with flight time of 4h 25min and 4h 28min. - Spirit Airlines also has 2 daily non-stop flights with flight time of 4h 25min and 4h 26min. The actual flight time will depend on the winds, speed of the aircraft and the actual route the aircraft flies.
3 :
If it's a nonstop flight than approximately 4 and a half hours.
4 :
if non stop, it should take about 4hrs

You might have better luck looking for two separate flights. No doubt you can find a cheap one to London. Then you can find a cheap one from London to Oslo

$468 o/w total with all taxes from airfare consolidator Vayama.com. I checked November 6.
4 :
try this site for cheap tickets http://asianairfares.com also try to book on the weekdays instead on the weekends.....it is cheaper
5 :
This of course depends on when you want to fly. I found the following options for well under $1000 flying roundtrip mid-week in February (I chose dates at random and ended up with Wed 18 Feb / Tue 3 Mar): Continental (via Newark)... $783 Northwest (via Amsterdam)... $841 KLM (via Amsterdam)... $844 Lufthansa (via Frankfurt)... $847 Air France (via Paris)... $916 SAS (via Chicago & Copenhagen)... $964 [taxes/fees included, all listed on Orbitz] Unfortunately, if you want to fly on a weekend in September, it looks like $1008 is probably the best price you're going to find: $1008 roundtrip on Lufthansa/SAS flying Fri 19 Sep and returning Sun 28 Sep, connecting in Frankfurt: LH487, SK3644 / SK4755, LH 486 listed on Vayama. Another option you might consider is using a flexible search to find cheap flights to one of the European gateway cities (esp. London or Frankfurt) and then using http://www.skyscanner.net to search the European low-cost airlines (i.e. RyanAir, Sterling, Norwegian, etc) to find an inexpensive connection to Oslo. Just keep in mind that the discount airlines often have very low baggage limits and you may have to switch airports, since the low-cost airlines usually fly to a city's smaller airports. (FYI - Sterling and Norwegian fly to OSL, but RyanAir flies to Torp, which is a 2-hour bus ride from Oslo.)

Heey I really want to go to California during my summer vacation for about one month (4 weeks or even 3 weeks). I have from July 25th to about August 28th. I want to find a very cheap ticket from Detroit Metro Airport to LAX airport in Los Angeles or any airport that is very close to California (not more than 15 minutes away) such as Ontario airport. If anyone can help me find a ticket that is $150 or under please tell me the site or details thanks.

I have not flown from Detroit, but have made this trip from Chicago. Air time from Chicago to Detroit is less than one hour. Roughly seven hours to London and roughly eight hours to Detroit. The trip eastbound is usually quicker because of prevailing winds.
2 :
7h25m to be precise. Detroit-London Heathrow.
3 :
If you are flying from DTW, you must be on NWA, and we don't fly into Heathrow. DTW-LGW (London Gatwick) 7:00 LGW-DTW 7:35 Almost the same every time I've worked it!

What's up on that Foo Fighters song Wheels Down and that incident on the Flight 253 to Detroit

What's up on that Foo Fighters song Wheels Down and that incident on the Flight 253 to Detroit?
I just heard the song tonight on the way home. I don't believe in coincidences.

What? I know the song, I have it on my ipod. I just don't see how the attempted attack in Detroit has anything to do with it? Where on earth did you get that idea from?
2 :
I find there to be nothing in common between the two with the exception of the feeling that some people on the plane may have had. To me the song is about a person that fears the plane that they are on may crash.
3 :
I dont think so. If that was recent; they wrote the song a few years ago I think. Dave talked about just writting alot of songs on one of thier tours, because they stopped sound checking the songs they already knew,,,and Wheels was one of them. I really doubt it...I dont even think the song had anything to do with aeroplanes, except metaphorically.

What is the cheapest flight from Detroit, Mi to Wellington, New Zealand

What is the cheapest flight from Detroit, Mi to Wellington, New Zealand?

You will need to check it out with your travel agent. Air New Zealand flies from both San Francisco and LA to Auckland, so whichever is easiest to get to from Detroit would be your best bet. From Auckland to Wellington is a 50 minute flight, so that's the easy part. I live in sight of Wellington airport.
2 :
My partner is from the usa and travels regularly to new zealand. we have found the best and cheapest sites to get airfares from are www.cheaptickets.com and www.airgorilla.com He does this trip at least 5 times a year and its MUCH cheaper than going through a travel agent. average of $800-$1000 saving with booking online. I did a quick search and found from Mi to Wellington, flying with united within usa, and air new zealand for the international part, for $1900 including taxes, round trip.

can someone find me an extremely cheap flight from Detroit to New York

can someone find me an extremely cheap flight from Detroit to New York?
can someone please find me cheap flights from Detroit to New York. 2 adults, 3 kids. i am looking for under 200$ per person. round trip. from august 4 to august 18 or somewhere near those dates

www.sidestep.com This searches a lot of published fares - even on Orbitz, etc, and links you to the best deal. For the dates you're looking at, the cheapest is into LaGuardia for $253 on AirTran. Changing your flying days to Tuesdays or Wednesdays cuts the price by about $50 a ticket - making it $205 roundtrip into Westchester airport.
2 :
You might try Travelocity or Priceonline and see what they have to offer. I don't think that there are any for a round trip for $200 a person, not with the price wars going on between the airlines.
3 :
You have to pick the dates. Tues Wed and Thurs flight are usually cheaper. And two week advance is usually cheaper. I would call Northwest. Southwest has online specials for $99 per person each way but with fees and taxes etc... probably more like $230 per person. But they fly to long Island so then you have to get to NY US Airway about $235 Northwest is a hub in detroit $218
4 :
Spirit Air tax included $171 per person from DTW to LGA But the dates are from Tues the 7 to Tues 21
5 :
Definitely go with Spirit Airlines. I just booked a flight from Detroit to New York in September for $23 round trip! Their sale fares are usually published on Tuesday at 3pm, and last 1 day. They also have a $24 off any flight sale every Thursday. Sometimes on Fridays they have Red Light Specials as well. I'm sure you'll get a better deal if you wait until September, but if you must go in August, I wouldn't pay over $175 per person. Tip - Never book a flight on Fri., Sat, Sun., or Mon., you'll always pay more. Book the flight on Tue., Wed., or Thur., and I guarantee you'll pay significantly less. Hope this helps.
6 :
Try Jetblue. They have really cheap airfares. Click the link below.

I'm going on a flight from Detroit to Fort Myers, and I need something to do

I'm going on a flight from Detroit to Fort Myers, and I need something to do?
i know it's really not that long, it's about 3 hours in total-honestly, though, i'm really worried about this plane ride.i'm 15, and i've only rode a plane once but that was with my brother like 4 years ago. i don't remember it, and now i'm going alone. i have a laptop, and an ipod, but, can i just get some reassuring that i'm not going to die a horrible death on this plane, ahahahah, and something else to do?

Three hours may seem like a long flight, but it really is not. Make sure your iPod and computer are charged (most flights do not have power outlets). By the time you get used to the new sensations and listen to some tunes, it will be time to land. (Think of it this way, three hours about the playing time of three albums.) If you become scared about the noises and sensation you will feel, look around you. If no one else is concerned, then it is probably okay. Have fun.

how long is the flight from detroit to amsterdam non-stop

how long is the flight from detroit to amsterdam non-stop?

Checking: www.TravelConnectionsLLC.Com I found the shortest non-stop flight is 7 hours and 40 minutes, and the longest is 8 hours and 5 minutes. The actual time could be more or less depending on the wind direction and speed. Keep in mind the local time zones, loosing 6 hours going and gaining 6 hours returning. Incidentally, I looked at flights more than 30 days out, departing on Jan 27, 2009, and returning on Feb 3, 2009, and the lowest price including taxes was $733.
2 :
Hey ! For North West Airlines its 07hr 50min and for KLM Airlines its 07hr 55min All non-stop flights. Good Luck!
3 :
A direct flight would be approx. 7 Hrs 55 Min. You can get flight times for airports all over the world at https://www.jets.com/
