Why cant i ever find flight deals to Detroit MI ?

Cuz noone wants to come here.

It's 'cause all the good deals are out of Detroit. At least, that's what I've seen in my experience.

The best deals I have ever found for vacations and flights etc. have been on www.travel.com. Better prices then the airlines themselves!

Because Northwest Airlines dominates the Detroit airport. They have very little competition there, so they have no need to offer 'bargin' fares.

can't answer that helpfully, CAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU'RE TRYING TO FLY IN FROM!!!!! I fly out of here 'cheaply' often enough, both domestically and internationally.

Because it certainly isn't a tourist destination like most other major cities. People fly to the Detroit area mostly for business or because they have family here.

This should help- http://www.delta.com/skymiles/use_miles/award_upgrade_mileage/sm_award_mileage/index.jsp 25,000 is the minimum on certain dates- space available, more if you cant be flexible unless you have a delta credit card (then they give you the 20,000 mile awards at times).

You will have to contact NW witch is now Delta. Or go on their web site. I feel their air miles program is really not worth it. They have three levels of usage. Light, Medium and Heavy. The total number of air miles needed will be determined by them. I wanted to go to DC from Grand Rapids MI. American can do it fir 25K NW/Delta wanted 47K to 72K.......not a good deal........

If you are flying on non-blackout dates, the minimum miles to fly for free is 25,000 since it is a domestic flight. This would be a round-trip ticket.

If I am flying from Detroit to Tokyo , Do you think I will fly over the north pole
If I am flying from Detroit to Tokyo , Do you think I will fly over the north pole?
I think i will be taking NWA Flight 11 from Detroit to Tokyo. I was wondering if the flight path is going to go over the north pole. It seems like it is the shortest path.

The shortest route between Detroit and Tokyo does follow a northerly route, but it likely won't go that far north. The website linked below has a graphical representation of the shortest route between those airports, which suggests that the route would likely take you through northern Canada and Alaska, but it probably wouldn't go all the way to the North Pole.
