How can I find out what I am allowed to take on a plane

How can I find out what I am allowed to take on a plane?
We are leaving in a few days for a flight from Detroit Metro to Oralndo. I need to know if my daughter can take her contact cleaner and if shampoo and mouth wash is allowed to be taken on in our suitcases. Is there a webiste I can visit? Is it done by airport or by the airline? We are flighting Spirit Airlines.

Check here: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm But basically, if her liquids are in 3 oz. containers and in a ziplock one-quart bag, she can take them on the plane. There is no limit on them in checked baggage.

Check-out the 3-1-1 on the TSA website: http://www.tsa.gov/311/index.shtm Carry-On Baggage (from the Spirit website, see link below) Each ticketed passenger is allowed to carry-on one bag. In addition to one carry-on bag, customers may bring one personal item, which includes a purse, briefcase, laptop or diaper bag, without charge. Spirit permits carry-on baggage totaling no more than 22+13+10 (56cm + 33cm + 25cm), maximum weight 40 lbs (18 kg) which is capable of being stowed under a passenger seat or in an approved overhead cabin compartment.

Do a websearch. You will not have a problem finding it. You could even search airplane and packing lists and find it if you didn't want to go to the TSA website.
